According to an IDF statement, the drone was detected crossing the border earlier in the day. Troops from the Yoav Regional Brigade quickly identified the unmanned aircraft and downed it.

Upon locating the downed drone, soldiers discovered it was carrying 40 pistols. The IDF said the drone and the seized weapons were transferred to Israel Police for further investigation.

No additional details were provided on potential suspects or the intended recipients of the firearms. Smuggling attempts along the Jordanian border, including the use of drones, have been a recurring concern for Israeli security forces in recent years.
