NEW YORK – The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.7 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in the latest drawing, lottery officials said.

Nine tickets nationwide matched five numbers to win $1 million each. The jackpot had been estimated at $1.6 billion and continues to grow ahead of the next drawing.
Powerball tickets cost $2, and the odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 292 million, according to lottery officials.
