Sloane said Super has undergone multiple surgeries and is showing steady improvement, with doctors hopeful he will be discharged in the coming days. He suffered a gunshot wound to the back that caused a collapsed lung, according to those familiar with his condition.
She said that on the day of the Dec. 14 attack, she jumped into a Hatzolah ambulance driven by fellow volunteer Mendy Liuztman and rushed toward Bondi Beach as Super and other responders moved to help the wounded amid the chaos.
In her update, Sloane said she has also visited other injured bystanders, noting that each faces a different road to recovery, and praised the bravery of Hatzolah volunteers and hospital medical teams across Sydney.
The antisemitic attack on a Hanukkah gathering killed 15 people and wounded dozens, renewing national debate over extremism, public safety and antisemitism in Australia.
