Authorities identified the suspect as Skyler Rose, who was taken into custody Tuesday following what police described as a credible threat toward Jewish houses of worship. The information was shared with local police by a state intelligence center and the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office, officials said.

According to a police affidavit, Rose had posted messages on social media expressing violent antisemitic intent. After receiving consent from family members, officers searched the residence and found what investigators described as several completed and operational homemade bombs, including one in Rose’s bedroom, along with an assault-style rifle. Bomb technicians were called in to secure and remove the devices safely.

Rose was booked into the Weber County Jail and faces multiple felony charges, including possession or manufacture of weapons of mass destruction, making a terrorist threat and prohibited possession of a dangerous weapon. He also faces misdemeanor drug-related charges, police said.

A judge ordered Rose held without bail, citing concerns that he posed a danger to the community. Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that, at this stage, there is no evidence identifying a specific synagogue as a target.

Local officials said law enforcement has been in direct contact with Jewish community leaders to address safety concerns. Police emphasized there is no continuing threat to the public.

The arrest comes amid a rise in antisemitic incidents nationwide, according to advocacy groups and law enforcement agencies.
