JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel plans to invest more than $100 billion over the next decade to expand its domestic arms industry, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign weapons suppliers after lessons learned from recent conflicts.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony for Israeli Air Force pilots, Netanyahu said he approved a long-term funding plan totaling about 350 billion shekels, or roughly $108 billion, to strengthen Israel’s independent production of munitions and military systems.

“We want to reduce our dependence on all players, including friends,” Netanyahu said, referring to limits imposed by some allies on weapons sales to Israel since the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

At the same time, Netanyahu said global demand for Israeli defense technology is growing, noting that several countries continue to seek Israeli-made systems despite political tensions.

Without naming countries directly, Netanyahu said Israel would act to prevent adversaries from acquiring advanced fighter aircraft that could threaten its security. He emphasized that maintaining air superiority remains central to Israel’s defense strategy, relying on skilled pilots and advanced aircraft.

Netanyahu also warned that Israel would respond to violations of the Gaza ceasefire by Hamas, and said militant groups including Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthis have no intention of disarming. He added that Israel continues to monitor threats from Iran.

Despite the warnings, Netanyahu said Israel remains focused on expanding regional peace agreements and pledged to bring home the remains of the last Israeli hostage believed to be held in Gaza.

“Over the next decade” is too slow. The US is trying very hard to jump off the cliff and join Europe as a Qatar’s little dhimmi bytch. The dependency on the US weaponry needs to be minimized within the next 3 years.
Also, Israel needs more out of box thinking: perhaps to put more stress on the cheap Ukrainian-style drones to take over some of the air force and infantry functions, and to produce thousands of strategic deferment weapons, such as ICBMs capable of carrying hydrogen warheads; maybe even a biological weapons program should be started.
The excrement is about to hit the fan, and all Bibi can do is to kick the can down the road, talk tough and act soft.

Israel has many issues. I’ve always dreamt of prosperity the “America way” for Israel but it cannot happen bedetech hayeva.

Israel would need to change much of its features to be an economic superpower – which is really the best success on both fronts – the military and economic.

The parliamentary system – for better or worse – is really a disaster – where everyone fights each other constantly. The courts suk. Inner fighting actually causes strife, hate, and loss of brochos (r”l).

It’s not a country of immigrants anymore (maybe never was – for good or for bad). In USA – India – produced many Tech minds – others – produced farmers, etc…

Israel is a Jewish state and diversity isn’t really welcomed. Hareidi don’t work and the fight goes on, forever.

Please don’t remove – I’m trying to start the obvious not my grievances..
