Mar-a-Lago (VINnews) – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Education Minister Yoav Kisch informed U.S. President Donald Trump that Israel has decided to award him the Israel Prize, citing his “unique contribution to the Jewish people.”

The announcement was shared publicly by Netanyahu on his social media account, accompanied by video from the meeting in Florida. In the footage, Netanyahu places a phone call to Kisch while seated with Trump, puts the call on speakerphone, and together they inform Trump of the decision.
The Israel Prize is Israel’s highest civilian honor, traditionally awarded for exceptional lifetime achievement and contributions to the state, society or the Jewish people. Israeli officials said details on the timing and location of the award ceremony would be announced later.
