WASHINGTON — The Pentagon said it has awarded Boeing an $8.6 billion contract to build new F-15 fighter jets for Israel, following a meeting in Florida between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The agreement covers the design, testing, production and delivery of 25 F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force, with an option to purchase an additional 25 jets, the Pentagon said.
The F-15IA is a customized version of Boeing’s F-15 platform tailored to Israeli operational requirements. The aircraft are intended to enhance Israel’s long-range strike and air-superiority capabilities.
Images released by the Israel Defense Forces have shown Israeli Air Force F-15s in recent operational activity. Delivery timelines and funding arrangements were not immediately detailed.
