In the interview with host Gabe Groisman, Pompeo argued that U.S. support for Israel is not only a moral obligation but a strategic imperative, citing regional stability, counterterrorism cooperation and deterrence against Iran. He said the Oct. 7 attack on Israel demonstrated the consequences of weakened deterrence and misreading hostile actors.
Pompeo shared behind-the-scenes insights from his time in office, including discussions related to military readiness, Iranian threats and diplomatic efforts to counter destabilizing forces in the Middle East. He also defended the Abraham Accords, the normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab nations, calling them a lasting shift in regional diplomacy that strengthened U.S. and Israeli security.
Addressing antisemitism, Pompeo warned that it is increasingly visible in the United States and abroad, urging political leaders to confront it directly rather than downplay its significance. He linked the rise in antisemitism to broader challenges facing democratic societies.
Pompeo also reiterated what he has described as the “Pompeo Doctrine,” asserting that Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria are legal under international law. He said U.S. policy toward Israel should be guided by historical context, strategic clarity and an honest assessment of the region’s realities.

Always liked Pompeo, I truly hoped he would return in the second Trump administration, alas not.
