The extension maintains existing trade benefits while a new permanent U.S.-Israel agricultural trade agreement, reached Dec. 1, is implemented.

The proclamation modifies the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States to continue the duty-free treatment that has been annually extended since 2004 under the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement.

The Dec. 1 agreement updates the longstanding 2004 framework for agricultural trade, creating permanent changes to reciprocal concessions between the two allies.

In a related development earlier this month, Israel agreed to eliminate tariffs on hundreds of U.S. food and agricultural items starting Jan. 1, 2026, including beef, poultry, dairy, vegetables, oils and fruits, with protections for some sensitive Israeli products extended until 2035.
