Williamsburg (VINnews) – An Orthodox Jewish woman who was critically injured after being struck by a dump truck last month in Brooklyn has died, authorities said.

Tema Rachel Jackobovitz, 53, was hit while walking along Wythe Avenue near Williamsburg Street West on Dec. 9, police said. The collision occurred at about 9:40 a.m. in the Williamsburg neighborhood.
Jackobovitz, the wife of Shia Volf Jackobovitz, was transported in critical condition by Hatzalah paramedics to Bellevue Hospital, where she remained hospitalized for nearly a month before succumbing to her injuries on Monday, according to people familiar with the case.
The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene and has not been arrested. The NYPD’s Highway Investigation Squad is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Members of the Williamsburg Shomrim assisted police by helping gather surveillance footage from nearby buildings, authorities said.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
