Emergency responders said the incident is believed to have been caused by hazardous fumes inside the facility. Initial findings indicate that caregivers may have used an open flame for heating without adequate ventilation, leading to a buildup of toxic gases.
Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service said multiple teams were dispatched to the scene, providing emergency treatment and transporting infants to nearby hospitals. Additional medical crews remained on site to assess other children who were exposed.
Police said three daycare workers were detained for questioning as part of the investigation. The daycare was not licensed, authorities confirmed.

Firefighters and hazardous materials teams worked alongside police to evacuate the building and secure the area. Residents were urged to stay away from the scene while emergency operations continued.
The incident has sparked renewed concern over safety standards and enforcement at private childcare facilities, particularly those operating without official approval.
The investigation is ongoing.

Two children dead, many hospitalized. So who owned and ran this place? This is not about “subsidies” or “lefties” or anything but homicide. So was it accidental or intentional? Was it negligence? Was it preventable? An objective investigation would help…
This is what happens when an entire generation think women should do the work of men and have strangers raise their children. I do not believe that Hashem expects men to be in kollel. I think the system is insane. The Torah clearly states that a man is obligated to provide for his wife. How then, do we have a huge segment of the population where the woman needs to break her back running the home and working full time and leaving her precious babies in these care of people who watch so many babies do the even let them out of the stroller? No, every babysitter I have seen moves kids from the stroller to the crib to the high chair.
It is a horrible. Obviously some women need to work but it’s one thing to be a two income household and another to be the sole breadwinner. It’s too much pressure.
It looked like a very disgusting and unsafe place. One baby was sleeping next to a filthy toilet. Fifty five babies stuffed into a sub par place.
Was this a “day care center” or the classic MO of a poor Kollel family trying to make ends meat by stuffing as many kids into their little Gan in their two bedroom house. We all know way too many stories like this. Obviously I am not saying that a morah needs to be prefect follwing every code with emergency exits etc. But some basic decency. I want to know what parents were thinking? Why are you sending to such a gan? Parents need to make sure its safe for the children and that the morah is responsible. This seemed obvoulsy not safe. I thgink I read like 54 babies with two morahs???Parents wake up.
The morah looked like a young girl.

The only people that need to be held acountable are the fire departement. I live in Israel and can verify that not a single apartement, not one single!!!!! has a carbon monoxide detector. How in heavens name do they allow apatment buildings to pass inspections without requiring carbon monoxide detectors?!
If you have bachurim or married children living in Israel please please ask them to install a carbon monoxide detector in their diras because I can promise that the Baal dira did not install one.
Yes I know that the babysiter’s are disfunctional but the real blame is the lack of carbon monoxide detector’s requirements
The Israeli gov has to take as some blaim for kicking chareidim out of the daycare
Well if you take away daycare subsidies, you squeeze them financially with open hate than its time for a Cheshben Hanefesh.
To all u idiots that judge a situation so quickly without any facts and without even reading the facts that we do know and without realizing how the Israeli news hates religious Jews and does whatever they can to make us look very evil …. After all that notice a few important points 1 the news is only showing one room in the house on replay to make the place to smaller 2 only 1 or 2 of them were actually showing signs of sickness I’m assuming those were the ones that died but all the other kids were sent in for a check up and not all from the same houses these were may children split up into many apartments 3 if it was carbon monoxide that could happen to anyone 4 nobody including the genius doctors have no idea what happened that’s why they want to do autopsy bc they have no ideas what’s going on no signs of dirty play 5 these daycares are extremely common in Israel there is a known lack of daycare people sign up two years in advance to get into one the government knows about the problem they don’t care and then something like this happens and everyone pretends to be all surprised it’s very sad but don’t turn this into more than that at least without real facts
Why jump to the conclusions of hating religious people as usual? They’re looking into what happened and there is no reason yet to point to anything other than an accident that could have happened anywhere
The cursed murders Yitzchsk Amit and Gali Baharav-Miara who caused this tragedy should get the death penalty
