LONDON (VINnews) – A woman testified in a London court that Barron Trump, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump, helped save her life by contacting emergency services after witnessing her being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend during a FaceTime call.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Jan. 18, 2025, when the woman, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, called Trump on FaceTime amid an alleged attack in east London. Trump, who was in the United States at the time, reportedly observed the violence briefly — describing seeing a ceiling, hearing screams, and witnessing strikes — before the call cut off after 10 to 15 seconds.

He immediately dialed 999, the U.K. emergency number, telling operators: “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up.” He provided the address and emphasized the urgency, repeating, “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.”

Police responded to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. local time. Bodycam footage played in court showed officers asking the woman if she knew who called, to which she replied that she was friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son. When officers called Trump back, he confirmed he had reported the incident, stating it was the best action he could take without escalating the situation further.

During her testimony at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, the woman credited Trump with her survival. “He helped save my life,” she said. “That call was like a sign from G-d at that moment.”

The testimony emerged in the trial of Matvei Rumianstev, a 22-year-old Russian national and former MMA fighter, who faces charges including rape on two occasions, assault, actual bodily harm, and perverting the course of justice. Prosecutors allege Rumianstev became violent partly due to jealousy over the woman’s online friendship with Trump. He denies the charges.

Trump, currently studying business at New York University’s Washington, D.C., campus, has maintained a low public profile.

Why is this a story? He did what any normal human would have done in the same situation.

Surprising he knew the emergency number in another country. Most people wouldn’t.
