The aircraft, a Bombardier Challenger 600 carrying eight people, went down at about 7:45 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said. There was no immediate word on the condition of those aboard.

Public aircraft registration records link the jet to interests connected to Itkin, a Texas-based plaintiff attorney and co-founder of the national litigation firm Arnold & Itkin. Authorities have not said who was on board or whether Itkin had any connection to the flight.

The FAA said it is investigating the crash along with the National Transportation Safety Board.

The incident occurred as New England and large parts of the country were being affected by a major winter storm. Snow was falling steadily in Bangor at the time of the crash, and hazardous travel conditions were reported across the region.

Itkin is widely known for high-profile litigation involving catastrophic injuries, workplace and industrial accidents, defective products, maritime claims, and wrongful death cases. His firm has secured multiple record-setting verdicts and settlements nationwide.

The Itkin family has been active in supporting local religious and community institutions in the Houston-area, according to community sources.

Jason Itkin and his spouse, Kisha Itkin, have also been publicly connected to Holocaust remembrance and education efforts. The couple served as event chairs for the Silver Jubilee marking the 25th anniversary of Holocaust Museum Houston, a major fundraising event supporting the museum’s educational mission. The Itkins have been quoted by the museum emphasizing the universal lessons of the Holocaust and the importance of education in confronting hatred. Public donor listings further show the family has supported Holocaust remembrance institutions, including Yad Vashem, Israel’s World Holocaust Remembrance Center.

Officials have not indicated whether any members of the Itkin family were among the passengers, and no cause for the crash has been determined.

    The investigation remains ongoing.

The Bombardier Challenger 600 is a wide-bodied business jet configured for 9 to 11 passengers. It was launched in 1980 as the first private jet with a ‘walk-about cabin’ and remains a popular charter option, according to aircharterservice.com

    OK. Let’s be clear here.
It’s a sad waste of life is a person gets killed. Whatever the reason.
It’s against the Torah if a person puts himself and other in a dangerous situation. That’s all I said. If that’s the high horse that I am on, then I am proud to be there.
