The robbery occurred around 1:50 a.m. at the A Plus Sunoco on Route 32, a gas station frequently used by members of the Chasidic community from nearby Kiryas Joel, police said.
Surveillance footage shows four masked men entering the store. One suspect remained near the entrance while three others moved behind the counter, where cash and merchandise were taken. The clerk is seen forced to his knees with his hands behind his head as the robbery unfolded. One suspect took the clerk’s cellphone, authorities said.

Store manager Love Singh said about $800 in cash and thousands of dollars’ worth of tobacco products, including vapes, were stolen.
“This is the second time this has happened here,” Singh said. “I hope they arrest these people. I lost cash, vapes, tobacco — everything.”
Police said at least one suspect was armed with a knife and investigators are determining whether a firearm was also involved. The suspects fled southbound on Route 32.
Singh told investigators he believes the suspects may have scoped out the store earlier. Surveillance video from the previous day shows individuals without masks wearing similar clothing, he said. Singh also reported seeing a New Jersey license plate on a gold-colored van.
Police said they are following several leads and are being assisted by New York State Police, the FBI’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center. Authorities said there is no immediate threat to the public, but no arrests have been made.
Police said the same gas station was also robbed in 2023.

No cameras to catch license plate?
It’s Route 32..
