5 Terrorists Identified And Eliminated On Israeli Side Of Gaza’s Yellow Line

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Five Hamas terrorists were eliminated on Saturday in Beit Hanoun after being identified emerging from a tunnel shaft in the area. A force composed of reserve soldiers from the Golani Brigade’s reconnaissance unit and Battalion 7012 of the Alexandroni Brigade was operating against remaining tunnel routes at the time of the incident. No Israeli casualties were reported.

The militants were spotted by IDF female surveillance soldiers walking with blankets over their heads, with weapons visible, east of the Yellow Line. They then entered beneath the rubble of a structure near an IDF force. Following the identification, additional forces, including Israeli Air Force units, were dispatched to the scene and struck the building.

A soldier involved in the encounter described the scene: “During operations against the tunnels, the troops identified a tunnel route, and suddenly we saw figures emerging from a shaft. From there, the situation escalated to pinning them down until the Air Force strike.” Following the strike, forces conducted further searches in the area. The IDF estimates that additional terrorists may have been eliminated.

The IDF described the incident as “a blatant violation of the ceasefire,” adding that it views with utmost severity any attempt by terrorist organizations in Gaza to carry out attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.

The Beit Hanoun area is located on the Israeli-controlled side of the Yellow Line. Images from the scene show widespread destruction, with no buildings left standing. Since the ceasefire took effect, IDF forces have continued operations there to clear militants and terrorist infrastructure. This was not the first such encounter in the area. In December, IDF troops identified two militants carrying suspicious objects and approaching forces. The Air Force subsequently struck and eliminated them.
