Hurlock was taken into custody at his Flatlands home after investigators identified him through video footage of the Monday morning incident. The 54-year-old victim was reportedly struck repeatedly while Hurlock hurled anti-Semitic remarks before fleeing with his religious headwear.
He faces charges including robbery, assault and petit larceny as hate crimes, along with aggravated harassment and criminal possession of stolen property. The victim was treated at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and is in stable condition.
Hurlock was previously arrested in August for allegedly throwing a brick through a doctor’s office window in Canarsie, striking three people. His arraignment for the subway attack was pending Friday evening.
