A neighbor of mine’s son and his friends were attacked last night in Manhattan – around Broadway and 40th street – when they ordered a kosher slice of pizza. The group that attacked them made antisemitic remarks prior and during the assault. The pizzeria owner did the right…

Laufer said the incident happened late Saturday near Broadway and West 40th Street, where a neighbor’s son and several friends had stopped for pizza. According to the account, another group confronted them after hearing the word “kosher” and made antisemitic remarks before and during the assault.
One of the boys returned home with a black eye, Laufer wrote.
Laufer said the pizzeria owner called police and the suspected attackers were arrested. Laufer did not name the store or provide additional details about the suspects. Authorities had not immediately released further information about the incident.
In the post, Laufer said the episode reflects broader concerns about antisemitism and criticized what he described as a failure by some community members to speak out against it.
“No one asked my son if he was a ‘good Jew,’ and no one will ask you either,” Laufer quoted the boy’s mother as saying. “Next time it could be your son.”

Andrew C Laufer, Esq is a confused man. He writes, ” Ironically, I don’t hold those boys fully responsible. I blame not only social media, Jews for Mamdani, etc… I also blame those of you that can’t even do the minimum and speak up against antisemites in our town. Those of you that enable them with your silence so you can avoid confrontation.”
In other words, everyone is responsible for brutally assaulting young Jewish boys except THE THUGS WHO ASSAULTED THEM.
Why does VIN constantly use random misleading pictures without any caption underneath giving context to what we’re looking at. In this case, the picture is of the inside of a kosher pizza shop, which makes the story unnecessarily confusing.
Was it a store that had both non kosher and kosher pizza that he had to request “kosher”?
I can appreciate Laufer’s concern about the level of antisemitism in the city. This is the case for many of us.
However, this is not his area of expertise, and he is off when he criticizes “as a failure by some community members to speak out against it”.
He would be better off to offer his assistance to people and organizations who could use his assistance in fighting antisemitism.
To criticize is easy. To help is noble.
Why would they emphasize “kosher” when ordering?? What kind of place were they ordering from?
Kosher pizza is dangerous!
According to the Mamdani administrations new guidelines, this will NOT be classified as a HATE CRIME unless / until it is “proven” to a hate crime eg cia conviction in court years from now. The rate of hate crimes against Jews will— you guessed it—- decrease significantly as a result of this sleight of hand .
