Emergency responders were dispatched to a home on Linda Lane, where a second-alarm structure fire was reported. Multiple mutual aid departments responded to assist, including Bullville, Mechanicstown, Circleville, Silver Lake, Howells, Otisville, Washington Heights, and Pine Bush fire departments.

The victim was identified by community members as Yitzchok Dovid Vann, a past president of Congregation Ahavat Achim in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. He was the son of philanthropists Shirley E. Vann and Avrom R. Vann of the Ahavat Achim Orthodox Congregation of Fair Lawn.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but the man could not be saved. The cause of the fire was not immediately known and remains under investigation.

Community members said he was a devoted follower of the daily Daf Yomi cycle with Rabbi Eli Stefansky for many years.

He is survived by his only daughter, Malka Miriam Vann.

Members of local volunteer organizations assisted at the scene overnight. Items of religious significance were removed from the home and preserved, according to responders.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel – 150 Rte 4, Paramus, NJ
