She also voiced support for Israel and backed President Donald Trump’s efforts targeting Iran, describing the conflict as part of a broader fight against terrorism.
Stefanik, a Catholic, referenced teachings from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops condemning antisemitism and called for greater moral clarity in confronting hate.
She concluded by invoking a message of hope and unity during the overlapping religious seasons of Easter and Passover, emphasizing solidarity between faith communities.
Stefanik is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
She represents New York’s 21st Congressional District, which covers a large portion of upstate New York. First elected in 2014, she was one of the youngest women ever elected to Congress at the time.
Stefanik has held senior leadership roles within the Republican Party, including serving as House Republican Conference Chair. She is known for her strong support of Israel, her criticism of higher education institutions over antisemitism issues, and her close political alignment with President Donald Trump.
Before entering politics, she worked in government and public policy, including roles in the George W. Bush administration.
