The fire truck crossed the runway after receiving permission to approach the aircraft following a report of a bad smell on board. Before the collision, an air traffic controller could be heard over airport communications urgently instructing the fire truck to stop.

About 40 passengers and crew members on the plane were evacuated to hospitals, some with serious injuries. Most of them have since been released, authorities said.

The fire vehicle had been authorized to drive onto the runway. In a recording from the airport radio network, a control tower operator is heard speaking with the vehicle’s driver moments before the collision, then suddenly shouting: “Stop, stop, stop. Vehicle 1, stop, stop, stop.” The vehicle did not stop, and the plane struck it. Two people who were in the vehicle were injured.

In another recording after the accident, the control tower operator is heard speaking with a pilot on the ground and saying, “I messed up.” The conversation was with a pilot from Frontier Airlines who was waiting to return to the gate and witnessed the crash. The pilot replied: “It’s okay, man, you did the best you could.”

The UA plane was on a different runway, LGA only has 2 runways and they are not parallel. They are intersecting. It will be determined that it was human error on the part of the ground controller who gave access to the the fire truck. As for a go around, it was too late, as the AC was in final stage and with main landing gear on the ground and nose gear about to touch down. The USA is operating with a shortage of 3000 trained contollers and an ATC system that is outdated and every democratic president has kicked the proverbial “can down the road” in favor of illegal immigration, billions of federal dollars going to illegals instead of putting American Citizens FiRST! Keep voting for socialist, communist, left wing radical democrats and Americans will continue to be tail and not the head.

Not suggesting that Ariela Avigail bat Dina Tzipora had already taken her seat belt off but this sad story does go to show how important it is never to unbuckle the seat belt before the plane comes to a complete stop and the seat belt signs are extinguished.

Do you people even pay attention to the stories before you post them?

The fire brigade was headed to a United jet that had been on the runway and cancelled take off twice due to the smell of smoke. The Jazz flight had just landed and was rolling out down the runway. The jet hit the fire brigade because the brigade was on the runaway. The Jazz flight from Montreal should have been sent on to go around among other things.

This article is about a frum woman who was injured- why are all the comments about the air and ground traffic controllers of which maybe 2 of 1000s in the US are frum and neither of them were involved nor read this site for news like the rest of us. none of us know how the system works and random guessing of a clear accident. the discussion should be on the definition of chareidi, because nothing in other news sources describes a chareidi woman but a modern orthodox one.
