In a statement, Mamdani said authorities arrested Alexander Heifler in a weekslong undercover counterterrorism operation led by the New York City Police Department with assistance from federal partners.
Mamdani said the alleged plot involved plans to target Kiswani’s home.
He added in a statement:

“Last night, an alleged member of the Jewish Defense League—designated by the FBI as a ‘known violent extremist organization’—attempted to blow up the home of Nerdeen Kiswani in a chilling act of political violence and an apparent assassination plot. The defendant allegedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack.
This comes amidst an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates.
I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers.
Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe.
Our city must meet hate with solidarity, and meet fear with an unshakable commitment to justice and to one another.”
The arrest followed an investigation in which an undercover detective infiltrated an online chat used by Heifler, according to court papers and officials.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
Nerdeen Kiswani was informed by authorities that a threat against her had been disrupted.

Wow. Finally our Mayor said something . Must be again a Jew !!!
no comment from Mamzeri about “protecting” synagogues and places of worship
As a former member of the JDL hear this this is no JDL TODAY HASENT BEEN SINCE THE 1980s
So this terrorist lover says I will not tolerate well. Guess what we Jews will not tolerate his love of terrorism, suicide bombers, rapist, murderers, kidnappers, and violent monsters would he say about that hopefully Bruce Blakeman will win the governor race and he would fire this terrorist on the spot.
The mayor FALSELY said the defendant “attempted tp blow up..” But in factthere was no “attempt “. At worst -and even this is not yet proven- there was only an intent. The person arrested but presumed innocent until proven guilty, is only alleged to have done whatever he was arrested for. The mayor did not truthfully distinguish accusation from fact. And even the accusation was distorted by the mayor’s own inflamatory rhetoric,
How many Iranian Terrorist Cells are running around Coney Island Avenue right now
Violence against Palestinian Islamofascist – give me a break. The Feds should target Mamdani
didn’t know the JDL was still around, and why is this Palestinian activist targeted when there are soooo many??
His “principles” clearly only work in one direction!
Sounds like he was just running his mouth, and the rest was just the government entrapment.
can he be sued for repeating unverified, and probably false, information?
PALESTINIAN HUMAN rights is antithesis
New Yoek Times article states the following :
> they [undercover detetctive with the suspect] built the eight Molotov cocktails together in Mr. Heifler’s home.
Notice the word “together”.
A setup for attention
