NEW YORK — A former Illinois state representative and current executive director of the political action committee at the Health Care Council of Illinois, as well as a former leader within New York’s Hatzalah Volunteer Ambulance Corps, is urging Jewish organizations to reconsider inviting New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to events following a controversial social media post by the mayor.

Yehiel M. Kalish wrote on X that Jewish organizations should “remember this tweet and all the tweets that weren’t” when deciding whether to invite Mamdani, adding: “Just say no. You can work with his office without giving him your platform.”
Jewish organizations need to remember this tweet and all the tweets that weren’t next time you think about inviting him to your event. His team asked to come to mine and I said no. Just say no. You can work with his office without giving him your platform. https://t.co/KJQzpoQ1Dj

Kalish also said in his post that his team had previously asked to attend an event connected to the mayor’s circle, but he declined. He did not specify which event he was referring to.
His comments came in response to Mamdani’s post about an individual allegedly linked to an offshoot of the Jewish Defense League, which the FBI has described as a “known violent extremist organization,” who was accused of allegedly building explosive devices targeting the home of activist Nerdeen Kiswani.

Well, when self-proclaimed ISIS bombers threw ignited bomb at NYC police barricade, he did not mention ISIS as know terrorist organization or anything of the sort… Here he is very clear. Why? what’s the difference? Jewish is the key word!
Do you tell your buddies at Darchei to stop inviting Zohran and Chucky?
There are lots of jewish skunks embedded deep in the frum community who put money and their own fame ahead of jewish safety and concerns
The man was a politician maybe he knows better. However I agreed that before he became mayor Satmar should not have invited him to a sukka but now that he’s mayor why would you spite your face because of your nose. I have a close relative whose is an askin iHe once told me We as a Jewish community have a lot of “perks” I don’t want to elaborate in a public forum but if we snub the mayor why would he be there for us when we could need him.
who is he?
The guy was caught making molotoc cocktails with an undercover agent to firebomb this ladies house. He is an idiot and deserves what he gets. There are plenty of other reasons to not invite Mandami
Mandani is more popular among ny Jews that any Jewish leader
Respect it, he cares about his felled Muslim as Jewish leader don’t give a hara about their fellow Jews
Mamdani is the MAYOR of NYC whether you like it or not. To treat him like some outcast is outright dangerous for the entire Jewish community in NYC please stop this dangerous behavior.
Aside from a pro-Jihadi, MamzerDummy is clearly a political snake and an attention headline graber. What makes you think he will allow his “office to work with you” if you don’t platform him?
Are you not concerned he will ban Hatzalah?
I hate Mamdani as much as everyone else. But at the end of the day he is the boss now. Furthermore, right now as mayor, I don’t see him as being anti semetic. I really do think that he splits his anti Zionist view away from anti semite. Again I don’t like that. I am pro Zionist and think Israel has a right to exist and defend itself. But I do think there are people that believe differently. I don’t buy the blanked rule that the two are the same. (For some or most Arabs that’s true but not for all especially the secular non frum ones like Mamdani) And so as if faces nyc and local issues why not work with him. Lastly he may make it big one day too
