MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (VINnews) — A Jewish father drew a firearm to protect his family during an alleged antisemitic confrontation at a Miami Beach park on the first day of Passover, authorities said.

Police said the incident occurred Thursday at Stillwater Park, where a 32-year-old man approached the father and his two young children and asked about their religion. After they identified themselves as Jewish, the man allegedly began shouting slurs and making threats.
According to investigators, the situation escalated as the suspect continued yelling and at one point threatened violence. The father then displayed a firearm in self-defense, prompting the suspect to back away temporarily.
Authorities said the suspect returned shortly afterward and resumed the verbal confrontation before leaving the scene in a vehicle.
Officers later located and arrested the man, identified as Ahmad Zeeshan, a short distance away.
Police said that while in custody, the suspect claimed he was exercising his free speech rights and expressed hostility toward Jews.
Thanks to legislation I passed while in the Florida Legislature, Ahmad, who claims the First Amendment gives Muslims the right to assault what he considers infidels, will now face five years in prison.

Authorities said the father is not facing any charges, determining that he acted in self-defense while protecting his children.
During a court appearance, Antonio Arzola denied a request for standard bond.
Officials noted the suspect may have been experiencing mental instability. The case remains under investigation.
In Democratic Party run states the father would have been the one arrested, now the democrats will be decrying Islamophobia for arresting the islamist.
