The prosecution is asking the court to order the defendant remanded in custody until the end of the legal proceedings against him. According to the indictment, filed by the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, Schreiber noticed the complainant dressed in Christian nun’s clothing, and because of this decided to attack her.

According to the charges, he ran toward her, shoved her forcefully, and caused her to fall to the ground. Then, while the complainant was lying on the ground, Schreiber allegedly kicked her hard again.

The indictment further states that a bystander attempted to stop Schreiber from continuing the assault, but Schreiber also attacked him with punches and kicks. As a result of the attack, the complainant suffered a hematoma on her face and injury marks on her leg.
The investigation was conducted by officers from the David Precinct of the Jerusalem District Police. Schreiber has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm motivated by hostility toward a group on religious grounds, as well as with simple assault.
The Foreign Ministry slammed the incident, which occurred last week, in a post to X/Twitter, calling it a “shameful act [that] stands in direct contradiction to the values of respect, coexistence, and religious freedom upon which Israel is founded and to which it remains deeply committed.”
“We extend our sincere sympathies to the nun, who was pushed to the ground and physically attacked, and we convey our solidarity with the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem.”
The Hebrew University also condemned the attack, calling it an “assault on the city’s fundamental values.”
The university added that “This is not an isolated incident, but part of a troubling pattern of rising hostility toward the Christian community and its symbols. As scholars of history and culture, we view this violence as a direct assault on the fundamental values of Jerusalem, a city whose strength lies in its religious pluralism and its commitment to safe, open dialogue.”
Further, it noted that the French School of Biblical and Archaeological Research (ÉBAF), where the nun is employed as a researcher, is a “cherished academic partner in uncovering this land’s heritage. An attack on its scholars is an attack on the global scientific community.”

Let’s hear all the facts before making judgements. Maybe the sex deprived nun attacked the poor guy, and he had no choice but to defend himself from the sexual assault.
Not smart
The most significant thing about that video is that a person is walking and sees the attack and appears to just keep walking and using his cell phone
This kind of unprovoked violence is abhorrent, socially depraved, and an embarrassment to the standards any civilized community especially the Jewish community.
I consider myself a militant and as a son of Holocaust survivors i remember the seething jew hatred coming from the Vatican however I also remember the church taking in Jewish children and saving them from the Holocaust while some can argue that the were ulterior motives and some children weren’t returned but to attack a nun unprovoked is a chilul hashem and the perpetrator deserves to be put behind bars or in a mental institution
