NJ Plastic Surgeon Running Anti-Israel Congressional Bid Pays His Own Campaign $7,900 Monthly Rent

PRINCETON, N.J. (VINnews) — Dr. Adam Hamawy, a plastic surgeon and Democratic candidate for Congress who has made opposition to Israel a centerpiece of his campaign, is charging his own congressional bid $7,900 a month for office space at his medical practice.

Federal Election Commission filings show Hamawy’s campaign has already paid the first month’s rent to Princeton Plastic Surgeons, the practice state business records identify him as sole owner. Additional payments are scheduled in the months ahead, a campaign spokesperson confirmed to Jewish Insider.

“We would much rather be spending this money on paid media, literature, or anything else, but we are running a grassroots campaign in one of the most expensive real estate markets in America, and a space for our volunteers to gather and organize is crucial,” the spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

Hamawy, an Iraq War veteran seeking to replace retiring Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) in the state’s 12th Congressional District, has positioned sharp criticism of Israel as a core element of his platform. He has described Israel’s actions in Gaza as “genocide” and accused the Jewish state of practicing “apartheid” in the West Bank, based on two medical missions he undertook there in 2024 and 2025.

“In 2024 and 2025, I went on medical missions to Gaza. While bombs were falling, I treated patients,” Hamawy has stated. “In three weeks, I treated more children than I have in all other warzones, combined… What I witnessed was a genocide, paid for with American tax dollars.”

Key elements of his foreign policy platform include:

Immediate cutoff of all U.S. military aid and arms sales to Israel.

Opposition to funding Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, which he has said insulates Israel from “having to make decisions to make peace.”

Support for Palestinian “Right of Return” under international law.

Broader calls to slash Pentagon spending and redirect funds to domestic priorities such as Medicare for All.

Hamawy has rejected support from pro-Israel groups including AIPAC and has received endorsements from progressive and pro-Palestine organizations such as Justice Democrats, PAL PAC, CAIR Action and AJP Action. His campaign website and social media emphasize the theme “healthcare not bombs,” framing U.S. support for Israel as coming at the expense of American domestic needs.

Hamawy’s Princeton Plastic Surgeons practice offers cosmetic procedures including Brazilian butt lifts, hair transplants and post-pregnancy “mommy makeovers.”

Campaign finance regulations generally permit candidates to rent space from their own businesses if the rate reflects fair market value and is properly disclosed. The arrangement has nonetheless drawn attention given the self-dealing aspect and the candidate’s reliance on grassroots funding claims.

The June 2, 2026 Democratic primary in New Jersey’s 12th District is expected to feature multiple candidates.

If he wants to cut the funding for iron dome so that Israel “will have to make decisions to make peace”, in other words let children die so the government will have to try to stop the war, why can’t Israel do the same to force hamas out of power?

Why doesn’t he move to Gaza permanently. He will have a blast there. Or he might blow up there.

We may not like the guy’s politics, but charging the campaign to lease his office space is peanuts compared to what Trump charges the US Secret Service for the right to protect him at Mar a Lago.
