The parade will run from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., traveling from East 62nd Street to East 74th Street. Organizers expect floats, marching bands and community groups to participate.

Extensive street closures and heightened security are in place across Midtown and the Upper East Side. Viewing areas will be available along the route on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event comes as New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to become the first New York City mayor since the parade began in 1964 to skip the event.

The sonei Yisrael is not “skipping” the parade… he is proudly boycotting it; he does not believe Jews have ANY right to be in eretz Yisrael. We are all white colonizers (even the majority of Jews who are from middle eastern Moslem countries and descendants of the hundreds of thousand ms of Jews expelled from Arab counties in the lates 1940s and 1950s with the shirts on their backs).

Proud Zionist? We have to find another word. “Zionist” has too many meanings which I don’t know if it encompasses the vast majority of worldwide Jews.
I am all in for Israel sovereignty “from the River to the Sea and from the Lithany to the Nile” but I am not sure if I am a “Zionist”.
Fyi am not Satmar Or NK, just a regular Frum Jew who wants Israel to be strong and succeed b”h BeGashmiyus and BeRuchniyus.

Mamdani is being criticized for not attending the parade.

    But . . . .

Where were the representatives of the large Lakewood, NJ Jewish community?

Where were the representatives of the large Monsey, NY Jewish community?

Where were the representatives of the Clifton-Passaic, NJ Jewish community?

LETTER TO THE EDITOR REGARDING THE ISRAELI DAY PARADE. The parade was outstanding and gives us unity for that day. However, we need Jews in mass who are trained in the martial arts to go after are foes when any Jew or JEWISH ESTABLISMENT IS ATTACKED. Have AN Israeli FLAG IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE and support shomrim and Hatzalah especially. WEAR YOUR YAMUKAH and walk groups. Our enemies want us to fear them. ALL THE PROUD SCHOOLS WHO MARCHED IN THE PARADE SHOULD HAVE COURSES IN SELF DEFENSE. RABBI DR. BERNHARD ROSENBERG

Many gedolim held of the foundation of the state and were Zionists. Sadly like in any movement we shun secularism and it’s the non Torah ones who cause trouble . But Zionism and a statehood is something many holy Jews held of. Today it’s less in style and not “charedish” to hold of Zionism.
