JERUSALEM (VINnews) — As U.S. President Donald Trump attempts to advance a new nuclear agreement with Iran, a particularly sharp response arrived from Tehran on Wednesday morning.

Mohammad Marandi, an adviser to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated that there would be no agreement with the Trump administration until the United States fully yields to Iran’s demands.
According to Marandi, Iran has set several preconditions for an agreement: return of stolen assets, end to the “genocide” in Gaza and the aggression against Lebanon, lifting of the siege, and waiver of sanctions.
“Otherwise,” the Iranian adviser warned, “Trump’s economy will crash.”
The remarks come amid unusually high tensions in the Middle East. According to the article, only last night the United States and Iran exchanged military blows, with American forces striking Iranian air-defense systems in the Strait of Hormuz area in response to the downing of a U.S. attack helicopter. Iran reportedly responded with strikes against American bases in the region.
Despite the military tensions, Trump has stated in various interviews that he still believes an agreement with Tehran can be reached. In an interview with the Financial Times, the American president reportedly declared that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu “will have no choice” but to accept a nuclear deal.
“I’m the one who decides; Netanyahu doesn’t decide,” Trump said.
Responding to the downing of the American helicopter, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sought to downplay the severity of the incident.
“Foreign forces operating near our territory face constant risks due to human error, simple accidents, or the possibility of being caught in crossfire,” he wrote. “To reduce the risk, the best solution is for them to leave.”
