WASHINGTON (VINnews) — Jim Hanson, a former U.S. Army Special Forces soldier and president of the Security Studies Group, said during an appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” that claims Israel is committing genocide in Gaza are false, arguing the civilian-to-combatant death ratio in the war is lower than that of U.S. forces during the Iraq War and other major urban battles.

Hanson, a national security analyst who frequently comments on counterterrorism, military affairs and the Middle East, said critics of Israel, including host Piers Morgan, ignore what he described as the available data on civilian and combatant casualties.
“The ratio of civilians to enemy fighters killed in Gaza is lower than it was for U.S. forces in Iraq and other major urban battles,” Hanson said.
Hanson also accused Hamas of deliberately placing Gaza’s civilian population at risk.
“That’s before you add the myriad war crimes of Hamas designed to get their own people killed. Yes, purposely,” he said.
He rejected arguments that Israel’s military response should be judged by the approximately 1,200 people killed during Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. Instead, Hanson said the legal principle of proportionality under the laws of armed conflict concerns whether the force used is proportional to achieving a legitimate military objective.
“After decades of terror from Hamas, the military goal was its destruction and complete removal from Gaza,” Hanson said.
Hanson argued that Hamas deliberately embeds its fighters among civilians to increase civilian casualties and fuel international criticism of Israel.
He also disputed allegations that Israel is committing genocide and rejected claims of widespread famine in Gaza, accusing some media organizations and critics of Israel of promoting narratives intended to damage the country’s international standing.
The war began after Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people and taking roughly 250 hostages, according to Israeli authorities. Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry says tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed during the conflict but does not distinguish between civilians and combatants in its public casualty figures. Israel says it takes measures to minimize civilian casualties while accusing Hamas of operating from within densely populated civilian areas and using civilians as human shields, allegations Hamas denies.

Any country on the face of the earth would have reacted at least 10 times stronger than Israel did, Just imagine yourself if a Mexican terror group which controls the government there and invaded this country and brutally massacred about 40,000 Americans and abducted 8,000 (I am talking about equivalents here) do you think Americans would have sat on their hands the way some European country’s would have wanted us to do, No they would have destroyed a wide swath of that country and killed hundreds of thousands if not more the same with any country on earth which has the power to respond.
So any talk of genocide is pure hypocrisy and antisemitism because they all know they would have reacted much stronger than Israel.
