As Hillel’s 4-year-old cousin, who was seriously wounded in the same attack, continues to recover in hospital and is now reported to be in stable condition, relatives are grappling with an unimaginable loss that comes just one week after the family lost another relative in a traffic accident near Bet Shemesh.
“He was supposed to put on a new backpack and be excited to see his classmates,” one family member said. “He was supposed to be dreaming the dreams of a child. What kind of evil in this world would harm an innocent little boy who never hurt anyone? Our hearts are shattered. Grief surrounds the family from every direction, and there are no words to describe the enormous void he has left behind.”
According to investigators, Hillel was stabbed to death on Thursday afternoon during a birthday celebration in Beit Shemesh. His 4-year-old cousin suffered serious injuries, while a 15-year-old relative who had been supervising the children witnessed the attack. The father of one of the children reportedly discovered the victims wounded near a swimming pool.
Police arrested a 25-year-old resident of the neighborhood on suspicion of carrying out the attack. Investigators are examining all possible motives, including the possibility that the stabbing stemmed from an earlier dispute between the families. The suspect’s father was also detained for questioning.
Paramedics from Magen David Adom performed prolonged resuscitation efforts at the scene before evacuating Hillel to hospital, where doctors were forced to pronounce him dead. His young cousin was transported in serious condition, and hospital officials later reported that his condition had stabilized.
Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said the entire city had been shaken by the tragedy. “Our hearts are with the families who have lost what is most precious to them,” Greenberg said. “Municipal welfare teams and psychological support services are accompanying the family members and providing professional assistance to everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident.”
The investigation into the fatal stabbing remains ongoing.

Hashem Yiracheim:
Check if this man was on medication. There are medications that interfere with brain function, causing under and overreaction to stimuli.
There are also medications that treat physiological overreaction (like high blood pressure, or hyperglycemia), that end up inhibiting NORMAL human response/reaction to stimuli, thus INTENSIFYING and INCREASING the build-up of emotions leading to a delayed explosion.
Medication should not be used instead of communication, self-regulation and negotiation skills. It can help temporarily, but if skills are not learned, the brain will learn to over compensate for foreign substances, making the problems a lot worse.
This is a heartbreaking story. The loss of a child, especially under such horrific circumstances, shakes the foundations of any community. My deepest condolences to the Dadon family and all those affected by this tragedy. May the memory of Hillel Mordechai be a blessing.
The senseless murder of a 7-year-old boy, Hillel Mordechai Dadon, is an unspeakable tragedy. My heart breaks for his family, who are enduring unimaginable pain, especially after another recent loss. No child should ever be harmed, least of all at a birthday celebration. This act of violence is an affront to humanity. I pray for strength for his family and for the full recovery of his 4-year-old cousin. Justice must be served for Hillel.
VIOLENCE ,AGGRESSION ; NOT what our forefathers knew in Europe.
