JERUSALEM (VINnews) — An unusual and remarkable sequence was recorded in the maternity wards of Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center, after three sets of triplets were born at the hospital within a single month, according to an Arutz Sheva report.

The three deliveries resulted in nine newborns in total: the first involved three boys, the second three girls, and the third a boy and two girls. In the third birth, the two girls shared a single placenta, a particularly rare and medically complex condition.
Dr. Vladimir Plotkin, director of the maternity wards at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, commented on the extraordinary occurrence:
“We are proud to be Israel’s largest maternity center, with more than 20,000 births each year. This is thanks to our dedicated, skilled and compassionate teams of midwives and physicians, who provide every mother with the comprehensive care and support she needs.”
Limor Hechster, a midwife at the hospital who participated in one of the deliveries, said: “Every new life that comes into the world, knowing that a midwife played a part in bringing it here, is not merely a job but a tremendous privilege. Triplet births, and even higher-order multiple births, occur from time to time, and each one is exciting all over again. But when three sets of triplets are born within a single month, it is an especially extraordinary event. We are proud to accompany the mothers and their families during such meaningful moments in their lives. That is everything to us.”
One of the mothers, Talia, gave birth to two girls and a boy after being monitored throughout her pregnancy by the clinics and medical teams at Shaare Zedek. The delivery was successfully completed, with all three babies born healthy.
She shared the personal journey that preceded the emotional birth.
“The beginning of our journey was not easy,” she said. “Before this pregnancy, we experienced two miscarriages, and in one of them I was even hospitalized in serious condition. Through the pain and our longing for more children, even before this pregnancy, we carried with us a world of prayer and faith.”
