WASHINGTON (VINnews) — Two Florida Democrats with strong pro-Israel records, Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Jared Moskowitz, are taking on new roles on the House Foreign Affairs Committee as Democrats reshuffle their assignments.

Wasserman Schultz, who represents South Florida, will join the Oversight and Intelligence Subcommittee, while Moskowitz will become the Democratic ranking member of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee.
The changes give the two Florida lawmakers prominent roles on a panel overseeing U.S. foreign policy and issues involving Israel and the broader Middle East.
Meeks also announced that Reps. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin and Wesley Bell of Missouri will join the committee. Pocan will serve on the Africa Subcommittee, while Bell will serve on the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee.
Rep. Jonathan L. Jackson will succeed Moskowitz as ranking member of the Oversight and Intelligence Subcommittee.
Meeks welcomed the new members, saying their experience and expertise would strengthen the committee’s work on national security and diplomacy.
