Noa Sabar Dvoskin, 48, a Los Angeles native who moved to Israel two years ago, made the allegation in an interview with the Jewish News Syndicate, or JNS.

Dvoskin and her three children, ages 9 to 16, traveled from Seattle to Los Angeles on Alaska Airlines Flight 583 on Aug. 22. They then continued to Tel Aviv aboard El Al Flight 106 from Los Angeles International Airport.

According to Dvoskin’s account to JNS, she discovered the handwritten message Monday while examining her suitcase after the trip. A photograph published with the report shows a folded piece of paper with the words “F— Israel” written in capital letters.

Dvoskin told JNS that finding the message left her frightened and uncomfortable. She said she kept it away from her children.

The circumstances surrounding the note remain unclear. There is no public evidence establishing when it was allegedly placed in the suitcase, who wrote it or whether the luggage was improperly opened.

A relative of Dvoskin alleged on social media that the paper could have been placed in the suitcase either at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport or during the family’s connection at LAX.

Dvoskin told JNS that she reported the alleged incident to Alaska Airlines, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, the Transportation Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Embassy in Israel.

Alaska Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment. No airline, airport or federal agency had publicly announced an investigation or identified a suspect as of Friday.

StopAntisemitism, which shared a photograph of the alleged note, called for an investigation into how it may have ended up inside the luggage.

The allegation follows another incident involving El Al luggage in Los Angeles earlier this year. A flight to Tel Aviv was delayed after pro-Palestinian stickers were discovered on airport equipment and checked bags. About 140 pieces of luggage were held while authorities conducted inspections. A third-party contractor was later identified and fired.

There has been no indication from authorities that the two incidents are connected.

The security of air travel depends on trust. When someone can tamper with luggage, it breaks that trust. Whether it’s a hateful note or something worse, it points to a serious security gap that needs to be closed immediately. This is not just about one family; it affects everyone who flies.

This is not just about a note. It’s about security. When someone can get into a checked bag to leave a hateful message, it raises serious questions about what else they could put in there. Airports and airlines need to ensure the safety of all passengers, especially on international flights. This incident needs a full investigation.

TSA opened my bag and spilled out the contents of some treats I’d gotten for my kids. Lots of sticky honey and sesame etc all over everything. And no the container didn’t open on its own, it was heat sealed closed. Luckily no damage but it was a mess. Happened to BOTH me and my husband…and we were on different flights.
