NEW YORK (VINnews) Conservative commentator Laura Loomer and radio host Sid Rosenberg are sharply criticizing a reported plan for President Donald Trump to meet with the Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, after reports surfaced Sunday that the Hasidic leader is expected to be part of a group of rabbis and community leaders invited to the White House.

The meeting is reportedly scheduled for Thursday and is expected to include several prominent Orthodox Jewish religious leaders. The White House has not publicly confirmed the meeting or released an official guest list.
Loomer questioned the decision to invite Teitelbaum, the Satmar Rebbe of Kiryas Joel, New York, citing the Satmar movement’s longstanding opposition to the State of Israel and its political activity in New York.
In posts on X, Loomer accused White House Jewish liaison Martin Marks of putting Trump in a politically difficult position by arranging the reported meeting.
She also criticized Teitelbaum over his community’s past political positions, including its support for Democratic candidates in New York.
Rosenberg was even more forceful, calling the reported meeting a “HUGE mistake” and saying the rabbi “has no right being anywhere near” Trump.
“Come on Marty! You can’t do this! Please!!!!” Rosenberg wrote, directly addressing Marks.
Rosenberg also accused Teitelbaum of repeatedly supporting New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and acting against the interests of what he described as “good Jews.”
The reported meeting has drawn attention because Satmar is one of the most prominent anti-Zionist Hasidic movements in the United States. The movement has historically rejected the modern State of Israel on religious grounds.
According to a report published Sunday, the meeting is being arranged as a gathering with several prominent Hasidic rebbes and yeshiva leaders. Its purpose and agenda have not been officially announced, and reports differ over which issues could be discussed.
The reported White House visit comes amid heightened political tensions over the Israeli military draft of ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students, as well as disputes over government oversight of haredi education in New York.

There is a beautiful picture of Trump when he was still a young businessman visiting Boro park with Noach Dear. There is one picture of him on the steps of Bobov. The rabbis should bring that picture along. I for one always knew he was very close to religious Jews so I was one of the first Jews to secretly fund his campaign back in 2015. I like to stay behind the scenes so I would never go to try and get a visit with Trump. But I recall an interesting story that this generation does not know. Trump came to 13 ave community council on a visit. A fellow I knew went up the steps along with the crowd. He told me Trump wanted to shake hands with the female secretaries but of course being Frum they refused. Finally Trump picked up his hand and yelled out who wants to shake my hand. My friend this single fellow said I will. And Trump shook his hand. A simple Jew in the next world will have the biggest leaders shake their hands. What a lesson.
The idea that a political leader should only meet with people who agree with them is a strange one. Diplomacy means engaging with different viewpoints, not just echoing your own. To refuse a meeting because someone holds a different political stance, even one you disagree with strongly, closes the door on understanding. It turns politics into a purity test instead of a conversation.

It is always good to see community leaders engaging with elected officials. Dialogue is important. What stands out here is the vitriol aimed at a meeting that has not even happened yet. The idea that some Jews are “good” and others are “terrible” based on their political views is a dangerous path. That thinking divides us when we need unity. A family does not cast out its own because of a disagreement.
