NEW YORK (VINnews) — One person was killed in a stabbing and the woman suspected of carrying out the attack was later shot and killed by NYPD officers Monday in a chaotic confrontation in Times Square, authorities said.

A second stabbing victim was critically injured in the incident, which unfolded around 4:30 p.m. near Seventh Avenue and West 42nd Street.
Police said the woman allegedly stabbed two people before fleeing toward an NYPD substation. Officers later confronted her while she was armed with knives and ordered her to drop them.
Police deployed Tasers, but the woman continued moving toward officers, who then opened fire. The woman was struck by police gunfire and later died at a hospital.
One of the two stabbing victims also died at a hospital, while the other remained critically injured. Thus, the two deaths involved separate circumstances: one was a stabbing victim and the other was the woman shot by police.
The chaotic confrontation in the heart of Times Square was captured on video and shared on social media as police responded to the incident.
The shooting prompted a major police response and temporary road closures around Seventh Avenue and West 42nd and 43rd streets.
Police said the incident did not appear to be terrorism-related. The investigation remains ongoing.

I’m sure that there will be some “experts” who will allege that the cops used excessive force, and could have taken that psycho alive. It doesn’t work that way; there was a case in Brooklyn in the 1970’s, where someone armed with a knife charged at the cops. They fired at him multiple times, and he was struck eleven times. Yet, he still managed to advance, and stab one of the cops to death. After that, the police union stated that their bullets needed better stopping power.
They took to long to shoot this monster. Glad the did.
