LAS VEGAS (VINnews) — Israel’s former minister of strategic affairs, Ron Dermer, told Republican Jewish Coalition leaders Monday that Vice President JD Vance played a critical role in Israel’s 12-Day War and said he would be “forever grateful” for Vance’s actions at a decisive moment.

Dermer made the remarks in a conversation with RJC CEO Matt Brooks at the group’s National Leadership Summit at The Venetian Resort. The Republican Jewish Coalition posted video of the exchange.
Dermer said he first met Vance when the Ohio Republican was running for the U.S. Senate. The two had a two-hour lunch in Jerusalem.
“He’s definitely one of the smartest people that I had met in the Senate,” Dermer said.
He then turned to the war, which he described as Israel’s greatest military success since the Six-Day War of 1967.
“That 12-Day War that we did last June, certainly, since the Six-Day War, was the greatest and most spectacular military success that Israel has ever had in those 12 days,” Dermer said. “The Vice President of the United States, Vice President Vance, played a critical role in that 12-Day War, and particularly the first day, where that element of surprise was so critical to our success.”
“I will be forever grateful for the role that he played at that critical moment,” he added. “It kept Israel safe, and I commend you for inviting him here tonight.”
Vance is scheduled to appear later Monday in a closed-to-press fireside chat at the summit’s VIP session. His appearance comes after some Jewish conservatives and GOP donors have questioned his record on Israel, his public comments about Israeli officials and his association with commentator Tucker Carlson.
The 12-Day War refers to the coordinated Israeli and U.S. campaign against Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure. Dermer did not detail what Vance did on the first day of the fighting.
The two-day RJC gathering has featured a lineup of Republican officials, Senate candidates and pro-Israel speakers ahead of the midterm elections.

With all due respect to Don Dermer ( and he sure is a great person) but he had to say it , I don’t, and I would hope that rather Marco Rubio is going to be the next president .
BTW if you listen what Dermer said that Vance was very helpful the first day of the war, but There was a resent report, that the Mosad had trained hundreds of Kurds ,to overthrow the regime in Tehran but Vance with pressure of the Nazis from Turkey stopped it .
Effective action often relies on critical timing. When a community needs to act quickly, having a structure in place can make all the difference. It allows resources to move where they are needed without delay. This kind of readiness is what fiscal sponsorship provides for community funds, campaigns, and scholarships. It ensures that when a moment calls for action, the framework is already there.
