Bank Of America Executive Identified As Woman Killed In Times Square Stabbing

NEW YORK (VINnews) — The person killed Monday in a stabbing attack in Times Square has been identified as Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America executive from Chester, New Jersey, according to the NY Post.

Piacenti was fatally stabbed Monday afternoon near 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan, according to police. A 68-year-old man was also stabbed in the abdomen during the incident and was taken to a hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police said the attack began near West 41st Street, where a woman stabbed the 68-year-old man after he exited a subway station. The woman then continued toward Times Square, where she encountered Piacenti and stabbed her.

The suspect was later identified as Pamela Cisneros, 49. Police said Cisneros was armed with two large kitchen knives when officers confronted her.

According to police, Cisneros charged toward officers while holding the knives. Officers opened fire, striking her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Piacenti worked for Bank of America in New York City as a vice president in business selection and conflicts, according to sources cited by the New York Post.

She was a 2016 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Fordham Law School in 2021, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Piacenti had recently celebrated her second wedding anniversary. Social media posts show that she and her husband marked the anniversary on Aug. 10.

The stabbing occurred in one of Manhattan’s busiest tourist areas during the afternoon, as large numbers of pedestrians were in Times Square.

The investigation into the stabbing and the police shooting remains ongoing.
