MANCHESTER (VINnews) – Nearly a year after a terrorist attack on Yom Kippur claimed the lives of Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby, hundreds of members of Greater Manchester’s Jewish community gathered Monday night at Heaton Park Synagogue to honor the victims.

The memorial brought together about 850 people, including members of the Jewish community, political leaders, civic officials, emergency service representatives and community organizations from across Greater Manchester, according to the Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester and Region.
The synagogue was the site of the attack that killed Cravitz and Daulby.

Family members of Cravitz and representatives of Heaton Park Synagogue addressed those attending, reflecting on the personal loss suffered by the victims’ families and the wider community.
The gathering also emphasized Jewish unity and resilience in the face of terrorism and antisemitism.
Organizers said the event demonstrated the strength of ties between Greater Manchester’s Jewish community and local and national civic leaders.
They also pledged to continue supporting the victims’ families and the synagogue while pressing government officials to take stronger action against extremism and hatred targeting British Jews.
The council said the terrorist attack had been intended to shut down the synagogue, but instead brought the community together inside it in large numbers.
