JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Israel Defense Forces on Monday struck and killed Talal Mustafa Saleh Badawi, a commander in the Military Security Department of Hamas’ Gaza City Brigade, the military said Wednesday.

A second Hamas operative, Momo Saeed Mohammed Hawari, was also killed in the strike, according to the IDF.
The military said the two had recently advanced terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and worked to rebuild Hamas capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The strike was carried out to remove an immediate threat.
“Prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance,” the IDF said.
Troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the existing agreement and will continue to operate against any threat, the military added.
The announcement comes amid ongoing IDF operations in Gaza aimed at preventing Hamas from reconstituting its forces after the October 7, 2023, massacre and subsequent war.
