NEW YORK (VINnews) – The New York Post editorial board on Wednesday sharply criticized New York’s progressive leadership following the fatal stabbing of a woman in Times Square, arguing that the attack is part of a broader breakdown in public safety.

The editorial focused on the case of Pamela Cisneros, who police say stabbed two people, killing one, before she was shot by NYPD officers. The Post argued that warning signs in Cisneros’ history should have prompted intervention before the attack.
The editorial also criticized progressive policies on involuntary mental health treatment, homelessness and crime, saying they have contributed to what it described as widespread disorder across New York City.
The Post specifically took aim at Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James, accusing them of failing to take sufficiently aggressive action on public safety.
The editorial urged New York voters to consider public safety when they head to the polls in November, calling for the removal of elected officials who support policies it considers responsible for the city’s disorder.
