The strike was carried out earlier this week in the Khan Yunis area of the southern Gaza Strip and killed Muhammad Mahmoud Marshad Al-Qadi, a company commander in Hamas’ military wing, according to a joint IDF-ISA statement.

Al-Qadi infiltrated the Sufa outpost on Oct. 7 and commanded the attack on the base, the statement said. Throughout the war, he also participated in holding Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity in the Rafah area.

Israeli officials said Al-Qadi recently led training for Hamas terrorists and worked to rebuild the organization’s military capabilities. They also accused him of advancing attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians in what they described as a systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement.

“The terrorist was eliminated in order to remove the threat that he posed,” the statement said.

The IDF said troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate against any threat.
