TEL AVIV (VINnews) — Israeli budget carrier Israir will begin direct flights between Tel Aviv and New York City on Sept. 15, joining El Al and Arkia on the route, Channel 12 reported Sunday.

The new service will operate between Ben Gurion Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport as nonstop flights between the United States and Israel remain limited and expensive after repeated cancellations tied to the wars in Gaza and Iran.
Israir will initially fly the route three times a week and plans to increase service to daily flights by the end of October, according to the report.
One-way tickets will initially be priced at $950, with round-trip fares starting at $1,900. Channel 12 said the round-trip price is expected to fall to $1,600 by the end of the Jewish holiday season in mid-October.
The launch would add a third Israeli airline to the Tel Aviv-New York market at a time when capacity has been constrained and fares have stayed high.

Good – it was a long time that El Al was ripping off the customers
Can you book tickets for sukkos?
I was so upset about paying $1800 for the monopolizing elal, that I’m so excited to hear that Israir is charging even more.
Israir Airlines is michalel Shabbos with scheduled flights on Friday Nights and Shabbos.
That is why the heimishe oilam never liked using them. Nothing is going to change if they are a Jewish Israeli company doing business publicly on Shabbos.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaaabis!!
It’s good to see more options opening up for travel to Israel. For families planning trips, having more flights can make a real difference, especially when you’re coordinating schedules for kids and grandparents. We often hear from families who want to experience Jerusalem and give back through our Pantry Packers program, and easier travel helps them make that happen.
not happy as el al is owned by a major donor to yeshivas bprat in riverdale yeshivish places this can hurt them
