The message was discovered over the weekend by a member of a church group using the school. The school’s principal notified parents Monday, saying police were investigating.

The message was painted over, and the bathroom is being repaired. School officials said antisemitism and hate have no place in schools and vowed to identify those responsible.

The incident occurred near the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial, a site honoring the more than 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust.

Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner condemned the vandalism and said he had been in contact with district officials.

“I am appalled by the hateful antisemitic message discovered at Miami Beach Senior High,” Meiner said in a statement. “There is no place for antisemitism or hatred of any kind, especially in our schools. Our students deserve to be in a safe environment where they feel respected and protected. I’ve been in contact with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, which is leading the investigation alongside Miami-Dade Schools Police, and I expect it to be thorough and those responsible held accountable. Miami Beach will always stand firmly against antisemitism.”
