A very wet snow is causing some slippery road conditions.
Accumulations of several inches are expected on eastern Long Island and Westchester and Rockland counties.
Some schools are delaying their start times by one to two hours.
Snow flurries are expected to continue until about noon Friday before changing to rain.
About two to six inches of snow are expected for the morning commute on Long Island, and one to four inches in Westchester.
Commuters are advised to give themselves extra time to get to work.
Dry and warmer weather is forecast for the weekend.
Alternate side parking is suspended to facilitate snow removal on Friday. Meters and all other parking regulations remain in effect.
