Jerusalem – The international community and world media have proven themselves to be “hypocritical” by condemning Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip, Hatnua faction chairman Meir Sheetrit said Monday.

Sheetrit, who was nearly elected president last month, told his faction, that the IDF was doing everything possible to minimize civilian deaths on both sides of the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip and could be proud of its success.
“There have been thousands killed by American and other armies in Afghanistan and Kosovo,” Sheetrit said. “There were 260 killed yesterday in Syria and dozens in Libya and Iraq. No one tweets, no one cares. We have nothing to apologize for.”
Sheetrit spoke on a day when all other faction meetings were either canceled or closed to the press, due to cabinet meetings and visits by MKs to hospitals and bereaved families.
He said the Knesset would continue to minimize its parliamentary work, because MKs needed to be focusing on supporting the ongoing operation in the Gaza Strip.
Thanks for being one less braid dead Israeli politician.
It’s as simple as that but you can add that the world clearly hate Israel and they can all go to hell.
From Wikipedia- in Iraq, 4000 US soldiers, estimated 500,000 Iraqi deaths 110,000- 125000 civilians
Kerry- I did not hear any comment from you on those numbers?
no one is saying BOO on this:
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has emptied Mosul of Christians, Christian leaders lamented earlier this week, after the Islamist group issued them an ultimatum: convert to Islam, pay non-Muslim jhizya taxes – or die.
PART 1
John Kenneth Galbraith coined the phrase “conventional wisdom,” though he didn’t consider it a positive thing.
He said that we “…associate truth with convenience…with what most closely accords with self-interest and personal well-being or promises best to avoid awkward effort or unwelcome dislocation of life. We also find highly acceptable what contributes most to self-esteem…[social and social political issues]…are complex, and to comprehend their character is mentally tiring. Therefore we adhere, as though to a raft, to those ideas which represent our understanding.”
So, to paraphrase a description of Galbraith’s position that appears in Freakonomics, the conventional wisdom must be simple, convenient, comfortable and comforting – though not necessarily true.
PART 2.
A “mentally tiring” truth for us, for Jews, is that the IDF tends to treat human shields as if they were not there… the moral repugnancy of the Palestinian rashoim’s placing them there in the first place is deemed sufficient , it would seem, to permit firing through them or at them to get at the legitimate targets being shielded. That this is contrary to United States and NATO doctrine and to international standards is simply true, and not some sort of anti-Israel or anti –Semitic propaganda.
PART 3.
My father was a German Jewish immigrant who escaped Hitler’s Germany in 1938 – and who lost much of his family in the Churban – He was in his 20s when Hitler became Chancellor in 1933…and he passed on to me his thoughts as a witness to the Weimar Republic and it’s fall. He would describe all who fall in lockstep to their government or to their nationalism as “good Germans,” as he saw little if any qualitative difference between those who, for example, unquestioningly supported the Vietnam War and many of those Germans who rallied behind National Socialism in the early 30s.
Another danger in this mentality is to dismiss as disloyal or traitorous those who do not fall lockstep into the party line, aimed even at those who do not differ on the larger strategic issue. It pains me to say that I see too much of this in our own community.
Lets all take notice
Of which of the world leaders and they
In unison are in silence
And thereby agreeing with
A soveigrn nation to do what it supposed to do ;
” russia and china”
These two are symbolizing with their
Silence
That in order to be victorious
A countery is to defend themselves
By all means necessary
And we should look to them for exapmplery lessons!!
Who dares to even to tamper with them
Even just to test them ?
Now with crimea , which i agree with PM Putin
And eventually with the entire ukraine ,
After what they do to their citizens – and the jewish remnance ,
How they abuse and do nothing to build them
Yet no one dares to test him .
And the chechens when they tried and they learned pretty fast
Its consequence ;
And so this is the moral lesson
We ought to take from this world leader
And bb should bypass
Te current administration
In washington
And he would gain respect and fear
Throughout !
But of course it will never happen
As their Are-no Leaders
In isreal!!!’
If you have nothing to apologize for, then why are you apologizing? Also, why would you give Gazans 48 hours advance warning before entering their towns when you totally eliminate the element of surprise and only allow Hamas to set up booby traps and ambushes for our soldiers? What other military in the world does that? We’ve already lost 26 precious young men, most of them because of this stupidity about not wanting to harm civilians. These civilians elected Hamas as their leaders and they can use their limited mental capacity to figure out on their own that it’s time to leave their homes before the IDF arrives. This political correctness disease of Israel’s politicians will only result in more IDF casualties and fatalities. It’s time for the IDF to fight this war as any other country would!
Kol Hakavod! Someone has finally said the right thing.
