The crash occurred Aug. 19 at around 6 a.m. in downtown Newark. Authorities have said a bus driven by 27-year NJ Transit veteran Joseph Barthelus was just starting its route and carrying no passengers when it slammed into the side of another bus carrying about 20 passengers at an intersection.
Jesy Garcia was a passenger on the second bus. She died several hours later at a hospital. Eighteen other people were hurt.
The surveillance video (http://7ny.tv/2dpsuDu) was made public Tuesday. It shows one bus crashing into the other.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
why does it take months to investigate? there is one question: who had the right of way. obviously one bus passed a red light, or didn’t stop at a stop sign if there is no light.
