“I have no skills to be the secretary of the Treasury,” he said at a Wall Street Journal business forum in Washington.
Owing to his success as the businessman who founded Bloomberg News, the mayor has been rumored as a potential replacement if current Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner leaves.
The White House has strained relations with business and administrative officials say they want to improve ties.
Putting a former executive in a key position could be a way to help the president better understand the perspective of businesses.

He has no skills to pick a Dept. of Education head, either. And his pick to head the Dept of Transportation shows no skills in that area also.
He had no idea how to run the city and he pushed thru 3 terms. Let’s just wait till the job will be offered and he will change his tone.
#3 is right; what is he talking about qualifications when his own appointee to run the largest school system in America has NO background or experience in education.
We need a qualified economist running the show, not a businessman.
