City Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan, in a sworn affidavit, claims she never told Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz that the controversial Prospect Park West bike lane was only a “trial” project that was to be yanked if it caused safety problems.
“The borough president’s recollection is mistaken,” she wrote.
After being subpoenaed in a lawsuit seeking to remove the lane, Markowitz, a staunch project opponent, testified that Sadik-Khan told him in March that the lane was temporary.
Sadik Kahn should resign shes a eye sore
Marty’s a good guy deep down. Janet is a fine woman, deep down. I guess that if you want to do for and bring out the best in people, strengthen their bein adom l’chaveiro then you give in for each other. Otherwise sue.
Markowitz is a political hack with a long history of mistaken recollections. Sadkik Kahn sometimes takes gutsy positions on policy issues but she has always been up front about her agenda.
she runs a city agency anyone that has had dealings with them on an on going bases knows not to take their word and get it writing……. which will never happen because they are the political dogs on top and dont want to be on the record when they screw you i have been dealing with NYCHA for several years and if i dont get in writing i wont do it its call cyoa
Marty can’t catch a break these days. First, two shuls sue him, so now he has to hold his concerts in an abandoned parking lot, next to slums and streets with broken sidewalks covered with broken glass and now this!
