At issue is a rock outside the Texas camp that once carried the word “Niggerhead.”
GOP candidate Herman Cain, who’s black, says it shows “a lack of sensitivity” that the word was displayed for a long time and the camp wasn’t renamed.
Perry’s campaign says the rock was painted over soon after Perry’s father leased the site in the early 1980s. The Washington Post reports the camp was known by that word long before the Perrys’ lease.
Perry tells the Post that the word is an “offensive name that has no place in the modern world.”
Cain appeared on “Fox News Sunday” and ABC’s “This Week.”
Cain has a point, but didn’t he head up “Godfathers Pizza” which is offensive the another ethnic group often associated with organized crime?
It wasn’t just this. Perry’s campaign has been slipping for the last few weeks. He should just bow out right now. Nothing he can say now will make this right in the eyes of the nation’s voters. He doesn’t have a chance anymore.
how is this going to help.
Libs going for racism. Lol
And Obama sat in a racist church for 20 years.
This is just the beginning. Those who know Perry from his early years in Texas politics have so much dirt that has hasn’t yet surfaced, it will be really funny when he tries to crawl out of the hole he has dug for himself with his racist past.
If one looks at navigational maps regarding the islands at the mouth to New York Bay, the maps as late as the 1970’s or later, had a small island named with a virtually identical name on it.
Do people even know diction anymore??? Yes, the term could be seen as rude or racist to those who do not know the defintion of the word. The name of his place was called N–gg–rhead, which has several defintions, none of which are racist.
*(nautical) A bollard made from an old cannon.
*An isolated part of a coral reef.
*The coneflower.
*Hard tussock on tundra; often moss.
* (diving terms)slang for an isolated coral head, or any knob-like solitary protrusion, often semisubmerged, that’s a hazard to navigation. Also, naval slang for a small winch or capstan. Also, old reference in the British Navy for a mooring post made from a cannon, buried muzzle upright, that’s capped with a slightly oversized ball. Also, a large decorative knot, used to finish a special line or lanyard (such as suspended from the clapper of a ship’s bell); sometimes called “Turk’s Head”.
These are only a few of the many definitions… yes, I did know some before but I found all of these after spending about 30 seconds on the computer. Um, before jumping to conclusions, do some research!
Ill bet the swing sets there are made from gallows!
And hey, the church must be really easy to find, because the crosses are burning!!
