Williamsburg, NY – Truck Traffic Study On The Way.

Williamsburg, NY – City agencies would like to work with Community Board 1 to improve truck traffic conditions in Williamsburg.

To that end, Department of Sanitation (DSNY) and Department of Transportation (DOT) officials visited CB1’s Transportation Committee meeting last Wednesday, asking for public input on how best to adjust garbage truck routes.

Residents have long complained about noisy, rumbling trucks carting refuse through their neighborhoods to waste transfer stations in Brooklyn. Robert Michel, vice president and chief environmental planner for the consulting firm Urbitran Associates, promised to turn those gripes into a preliminary report, which would be passed on to DSNY, and study means of remediation.[Brooklynstar]
