    New York, NY – Thousands of tenants at 27 housing projects across the city face long waits for their elevators, roofs and heating systems to get fixed. Many tenants are having water leaks in their apartments in their walls causing mildew and mold concerns.

    New York’s housing authority faces large deficits and is currently using about $100 million set aside for repairs to run day-to-day operations.
    The Public Housing Authority says it hired an architectural firm to examine its properties and help determine which renovations to do first. Spokesman Howard Marder says all the projects will be completed eventually. [WNYC]

    Totally agree they should definetly call HPD the only problem is they will talk to the wall, unlike if any other landlord should try to delay his repairs then the city have enough money and employees to be there right away and issue fines left and right.

    maybe the tenants should call HPD and see if the city gets violations and charges for emergancy repairs like other landlords
